Everyone is on social media these days and in the sea of content it’s getting harder to stand out and engage. You have fractions of a second to capture attention and communicate your message. If you need to maximize your social efforts check out these tips:
- Get Visual
Visual elements are one of the most powerful ways to grab a viewer’s attention and communicate quickly, between 65 to 85 percent of people say they are visual learners.
- Write Less
The less the better. Keep it creative and short to capture the viewer’s attention.
- Understand Dimensions
It’s important you create your posts at the right size, all networks are different so make sure you figure out the requirements beforehand.
- Follow Guidelines
Consider each network’s image guidelines and design within them, for example on Facebook text can only account for 20% of an image.
- Attractive Imagery
This is an important factor. When choosing an image to use imagine yourself as the audience, ask yourself not only is it relevant but is it something that you would engage with and share?
- Get Mobile
Around 60% of social media time is spent on smartphones and tablets, how does your post look on mobile? Chances are that’s where it’ll be seen.
- Keep it Simple
It can be easy to get carried away with images, colour, graphics and fonts but reduce the clutter and keep it simple. You have the briefest of moments to grab attention so make it count.
- Be Creative
Think outside of the box and create something that is original and naturally interesting. If you wouldn’t like it, who else will?
