What color is the right color?

Capturing the attention of your viewers can be hard work, but with the right color scheme it can be made a lot easier. We’ve all struggled at some time or another with color choice, whether it’s choosing pillows to match the couch, or perhaps you’ve found yourself staring blankly into your wardrobe wondering what color top will go best with your favorite pants. We may not be the best for fashion advice but at Surf Pacific we know how to grab the attention of our viewers, and in turn your viewers, with the right color scheme. We are always happy to collaborate with our clients to find the perfect color for their business.

Depending on the industry you work in or the type of viewer you are trying to engage, color will play a heavy part in the branding and identity of your business. Shades of blue are often associated with medical fields, red is commonly seen in food industries, and green is almost always used in nature related branding. So the first question you’ll need to ask yourself is; do you want to be similar to other businesses, or will you look for an alternate color scheme to stand out from the competition. Before you go choosing a different color scheme though, it’s important to remember that being different for the sake of being different is not always going to work in your favor.

The best way to find a color scheme for your business is to consult a color wheel. With a color wheel you get a clear diagram of what colors work best together. A good color wheel will show you three common color choice rules; complementary, monochromatic, and analogous color schemes. There are of course more than just these three rules for choosing colors. However, these are the most practical and commonly used. Once you get used to using a color wheel, you’ll be choosing brilliant color schemes in no time.
